President Saritin opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag and P.P. Bruce did the blessing. Bill Z. started the group for singing God Bless America, but it still lacks a leadership, miss you P.P. Kevin and P.P. Vinnie.
P.P. Joe filled in for Monique (out because of family matters) and announced Bob Richmond, guest of Adam, Bob Alcanada, guest of P.P. Anne. there were no b-days (not even me! (Barry)) but Sergio celebrates 18 years with Chelsea Rotary.
Mitch filled in as SAA and the general fine was anyone not wearing green in honor of ST. Patrick's Day.I think it was about 50/50. Sergio was happy and sad that his son, Christopher, is taking a trip to China. Paula paid for being on TV, is it $1,$5, or $10 fine???. Joe P. wanted to avoid the gen. fine by showing his "green" colored underwear but we took his word for it and he is happy the tax season is almost over. Pres. Saritin was happy that Jackie was able to provide a substitute guest speaker for the meeting. She also announce that she in "with child" and happy for her up-coming wedding to David. Bill was happy for his twins birthday(s), Brian visited Cambridge Rotary club and presented our club with their flag. P.P. Sue was happy for B.C. sports in the tournaments, end of tax season, and Saritin's announcements. P.P. Anne is recovering from Las Vegas with her nephews. I, P.P. Barry, paid for happy for P.P. Mike's business anniv. of 31 years.
P.P. Joe announced that the club has received a donation of $2,000 towards the Columbian Project from a family trust of Helen O'Keefe of California.
Our guest speaker was Barbara Wilson of North Suffolk Mental Health. They have been operating for 50 years and want to make everyone aware of the strides in mental health recovery. Barbara gave a very informative presentation with video of patients who have been in recovery for many years and have been able to return to more normal, happier lives. These people explained through the help that they received, how they have improved tremendously. Their hopes and dreams to be with family and friends and self responsibility to make their own choices is very important. The patients are able to decide if they want to take medications and let doctors know when they are not feeling well. The theme they all shared is "The sky is the LIMIT"
Thank you Barbara and Jackie for making us all more aware of the strides in mental health. This is also a important issue of Pres. Saritin's year in office.
