Tuesday’s meeting was called to order by President Brian at precisely 12: 15. The opening prayer was led by Bruce and Tom K led us in “God Bless America” Our thanks go out to the Wyndam staff for a fine meal which consisted of beef tenderloin with rice and vegetables.

 

Secretary’s Report:

 

            No club guest and no member guest

 

A total of 25 members showed up for the meeting, which translates into a good turnout of 46%. Congratulations to those who showed up in the driving snow storm.

 

We had one anniversary – Charlene B celebrated her 18th.

 

No Birthdays

 

President report: President Brian’s report on the financial affairs of the Club were that the club was in good standing and projections of income, donations and fund raising expenses were in line with past years. The club has received several requests from various food pantries in the immediate area and the board is assessing need of the various agencies. The club has not officially committed any funding to the victims in Haiti,  more will be announced at the next meeting.

 

From our sergeant-at-arms Mitch:  The general fine for the day was who did not get a call from one of the candidates in the senate race.

 

From the Members:

 

Juan expressed his gratitude to Madelyn for the three thousand dollar check for his Columbia project. He also related a story where he had a run in with an undersized dog that fell in love with his ankle and shoe.

 

Tom K was happy to spend the weekend in Annapolis.

Brian H was happy for the city celebration of M.L. King Birthday

Ken W was happy to report that he found the city of Chelsea did the best job of plowing of all the neighboring cities.

Mike F announced that the annual Pot-of-Gold would have a new set-up for the up coming year.

Sue G was sad to see her ski season end because of work commitments for the next three months.

Jimmy D was happy to report that he had a great time in Cancun

 

Vocation Speech:

Bob Alconada of Shore Collaborative who became a member within the last year gave his vocational speech on what the Shore Collaborative stands for and how it supports the various school districts with in the Commonwealth. Bob has been married for thirteen years and has recently moved and built a house in New Hampshire. Bob’s outside interest consist of golf, hiking and reading.

 

On January 12 Juan ran a fund raiser for his Columbia Project the following pictures show attendees for this event.
