Rotary International Theme 2009-2010

The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands

Rotary International President: John Kenny

District 7930 Governor:  Ingrid Brown

February 9, 2010

This week’s meeting of the Chelsea Rotary Club was opened with President Brian leading the Club in the Pledge of Allegiance.  P.P. Bruce offered the blessing and P.E. Tom led the singing of God Bless America.  Arriving late were P.P. Sue, P.P. Saritin, Monique and Veronica.  Leaving early was P.P. Bob.  There was a total of 28 Rotarians attending the meeting.

Secretary Paula announced two birthdays for the week, P.P. Barbara and P.P. Bruce.  Both paid a generous fine to not have the Club sing Happy Birthday.  There were no anniversaries.  Secretary Paula introduced the guests of the Club; Interact Advisor Liana Asher, Interact members Jacky Elias, Heidi Lopez and Siulmary Rivera.

Sergeants-At-Arms Mitch took the floor to collect happy and sad fines.

Monique was happy to have Interact members present, for the Rotarians buying candy from the Interact members for their fundraiser and that her mother, sister and three nieces will be visiting this weekend from PA.

P.P. Saritin was happy for the Saints’ win and celebrating her birthday last Sunday.

Interact Advisor Liana was happy the Interact Club won the Mock Trial competition.

P.P. Charlene paid for pictures in the paper and advertising.

Joel paid for BC’s Bean Pot victory and pictures.

P.P. Joe paid for pictures and Saints’ win.

P.P. Mike paid for Saints’ win and more importantly his trip with his fiancé to California to get the blessing of the Chairman of the Board.

Fella paid for the terrible Super Bowl commercials.

P.P. Barry paid for his daughter who is spending five weeks in Australia studying on P.P. Barry’s dime.

P.P. Barbara paid for Colts’ lost and her birthday.

Joe was happy the Bruins finally won a game.

P.E. Tom paid for pictures, happy to have Interact present and being absent last week.

John paid for missing a couple of weeks.

P.P. Allan was happy to have Interact present.

Bob R. shared an experience about an ALS patient demonstrating the automation at the new ALS facility where doors were opened and closed, elevators operated, lights turned on, heat adjusted and the television operated from the patient’s wheelchair.

Veronica paid for missed meetings, her happiness over one of her mentors starting her own business in New Orleans and a workshop she will be conducting at the middle school and high school.

John B. was happy to have Interact present.

P.P. Sue paid for no badge, BC Bean Pot championship for watching Super Bowl with her parents on their new 55” HD television.

P.P. Patrick was short funds because his niece Girl Scouts hit him up at the office for cookies before the meeting so he couldn’t pay for any happy moments.  P.P. Sue came to his rescue and loaned him some funds so P.P. Patrick came up with many happy moments since it wasn’t his money; Interact presence, advertising, snow tubing with RYLA facilitators, pictures, etc.

Secretary Paula watched the Super Bowl with friends.  She almost missed the game because Comcast spent 16 hours trying to get her new television to work before they discovered Elvis the cat had ate the cable wires.

SAA Mitch was happy for Saints and Interact.

SAA Mitch thanked the membership for their lantern generosity.
