Tuesday meeting was called to order by President Brian at precisely 12:15. The opening prayer was led by Bruce and Tom K. led us in “God Bless America”. Our thanks go out to the Wyndam staff for a fine meal of sliced turkey with grave, mash potatoes and beans.

 

Secretary’s Report:

 

Today was RYLA day, representing RYLA and guest of the club were Diana, Jackie, Guillermo, Florey and Joam. We thank Elena with her support and organization of the RYLA group. The other guest of the Club was Sandra Whitely.

 

Our question of the day from our Sergeant of Arms, Mitch was what country sponsored the marathon that Rotary’s ambassador ran in 2009. For the answer see the May addition of the Rotary magazine.

 

Several members said that they participated in the weekends events of Camp RYLA. Our thanks go out to Patrick M for organizing the event of the weekend for the RYLA Kids.

 

Softball report: Our fearless softball team opened defense of their championship with a loss to Woburn 6 to 5. Better luck with this week’s opponent at our home field of Carter Park.

 

Presidents Report:          Several thank you letters were received this past week for donation that we made for their support. The organization that sent thank you’s were Friends of the Chelsea Library,  Taste of Chelsea and the Red Cross said special thanks for sponsoring a shelter tent for the people of Haiti. Brian report concluded with two gifts the board will be voting on which two thousand of funds will be dispersed. Brian acknowledged the gift of five hundred dollars donated by the RYLA group with specials thanks to Joam for organizing and presenting the check to Brian.

 

Our Tuesday golf league had only two participants Fella and Mike with congratulation going to Fella for shotting a 44. If you are looking to play next Tuesday please call Fella or Sue.

 

Today was Teacher of the Quarter Day with congratulation going out to Mary Grace Fusco. Presenting the award to Mary Grace was Superintendent Dr. Tom Kingston.
